Work out...just another phrase for "exhaustion"

Wow, my new trainer had to change my workout appointment to 6:30am. A whole hour earlier than the 7:30am. She is a tough one, thats for sure.

We worked the arms, shoulders and my butt to day. Whew! When I first started working out, I would come home hot and sweaty...now I'm coming home in cold sweat. I hope I'm not getting sick!

Food is boring lately. Nothing really tasty...I mean, anything that is tasty has butter and sugar, am I right? Sad day, I can't have that...must keep my goal in site! I really want to lose 3-5 pounds this week!!!

Karen and I went for a short walk by Utah lake yesterday, it was one beautiful evening, and one gorgeous sunset! Who says working out can't be fun and entertaining? Must see if I can download that photo from my phone to this blog, just so I can share!

Where I started from...

Like a lot of people, I eat when I am stressed, bored, or feeling neglected. Problem is, I also love to cook and bake. Twice now I have gained significant amount of weight, I blame "being neglected" by spouses.

First time I lost weight after a divorce, I was on medication for migraines. The side effect from the meds was weight loss and kidney stones. Didn't like the kidney stones. Loved the weight loss.

Third time married, I was doing well the first year, same thing happened. Feeling neglected, I turned to baking cookies, brownies, cheesecakes. Yum! No activity other than standing at the mixer.

So, back to weight loss...I started at 182 lbs on my 5'3" frame. That's a lot of weight! And a size 14. I researched diets, including HCG. In the end, it was good old eating healthy that got me started on losing weight. Portion control and avoiding sodas, fast food, deep fried anything. Lots of water. I went from a size 14 to a 12. Then the weight started coming back.

I asked my husband, Jim, if he would be my weight trainer and fitness coach. He sat on the sofa and told me he was too lazy. So, I hired a professional trainer. She got me started on cardio intervals and weight training. Soon I was a size 10. Which is where I am now. And proud to announce, that I am now 158 lbs.

My goal for September is to reach a size 8. I am hoping to lose more inches in the waistline. After losing the 2 pounds on the scale this morning, I am anticipating reaching that goal in the next four weeks.  Time for me to get on the eliptical!
